The Rahway Arts District Cultural Hubs |
The Union County Performing Arts Center has played a vital role in the revitalization and cultural renaissance of the Rahway community. A Classic Vaudeville House lovingly restored to its golden age grandeur, the Arts Center is a monument to an age gone by. Part of the magic of the Union County Arts Center is experiencing live performances in a vintage 1928 Vaudeville & Silent Movie Palace of just over 1300 seats. This past year has been finalizing the monumental process of rennovating this amazing venue, most has been accomplished. We anticipate completion of the work at the end of 2007 with an early 2008 re-opening where the orchestra pit, refurbished to its original 1928 style, will accommodate the theatre’s original “Mighty Little Wurlitzer” organ. We look forward to seeing you at the Performing Arts Center again this February! We hope your experience at the Orchestra of St. Peter by the Sea, sponsored by RSI Bank, Father Alphonse Stephenson conducting was a wonderful annual holiday experience. Call the Box Office for future performances: 732-499-8226 or www.ucpac.org |

Today, these organizations now housed in rennovated architecturally historic landmark buildings are surrounded by a growing number galleries, artist studios, antique stores, arts businesses and community organizations. The on-going visual and performing arts programming commitment to arts education guarantee the arts have a permanent home in Rahway. Visit Rahway and get to know us through our Arts. |

The Arts Guild of Rahway |
The Arts Guild of Rahway is a non-profit organization in the Arts District of downtown Rahway that was created in 1997 by a group of artists, artisans and arts administrators. Our mission is to support the arts in its many forms. |
Over the past years we have established core programs: a series of on-going art exhibits featuring notable New Jersey emerging artists, a jazz series with performances by many of the top club and festival names in the metro area. Art Education is presented as multi-week art classes in fall, winter and spring for adults and children at all levels of experience. During the summer we present a children's Art Camp, and this year with a new initiative, we are bringing art education to the 4 and 5 year old Pre-K students in the four Rahway elementary schools. The Arts Guild of Rahway was created to bring the Arts to people throughout our town and a multi-county region. We have worked to provide opportunities for many talented visual artists to show their work in our area. Our concerts in jazz and at other times in classical music provide a showcase for some of the great talent in our state. For people who want to learn to make art themselves or want to encourage their children to learn, our art classes offer a high level of instruction at reasonable rates. We might not have something for everyone, but we're working on that! The ARTS belong to ALL people and the arts can benefit anyone----If you'll just be open to new experiences----The World is a BIG place and the knowledge and cultures of much of the world can be found in the Art and the Music and the Dance that artists of all kinds and cultures create.
