The MISSION of the Rahway Arts District Advisory Board is:

To aid the Mayor in creating a diverse, and vibrant, economically and socially sound community;

To endeavor to develop activities and programs that encourage the long-term success of all those
involved in the development of the Arts District;

To support programs and projects that focus on audience development and participation, ensure diversity
and social inclusion, meet communication and access needs, encourage and develop international
activity, support the development of children and their families; work in partnership with educational and
other institutes to include arts in Rahway's daily activities;

To encourage widespread and regular public participation in the life of Rahway by supporting the
activities of diverse professional and emergent artists groups along with increased cultural programs and
businesses in the Arts District;

To increase long-term tenants by encouraging the area to be populated and supported by artists,
businesses, sponsors, and increased audiences/customers;

To garner support through fundraising, partnerships and resource sharing programs and actions;

To promote awareness of the value of the arts and to directly support arts programs that encourages
the diversity of the citizens and businesses and participation in the successful development of the city of
Rahway;

To create an atmosphere that builds strong arts organizations, encourages cultural and support
businesses to make Rahway their home;

To create, encourage, and support local, regional, national and international partnerships that utilize and
bring resources to the Arts District for the betterment and development of Rahway and the arts.
The Rahway Arts District Advisory Board are a group of cultural leaders appointed by the Mayor
to support the city in its efforts to revitalize the city's neighborhoods and economy.
