The American Civil Liberties Union

They declare themselves as being nonpartisan, willing and able to defend anyone who is having their legal rights of free speech trampled upon. They exhibit this by actively vouching for people who have all sorts of views—everything from politically correct views to politically incorrect views.

The interesting thing is that even if they legally vouch for people with politically incorrect views, they will still outwardly condemn those people. A perfect example is the rally that happened in Charlottesville to keep the the statue of Robert E. Lee.

The people who organized the event had a hard time getting a permit due to the fact that their cause was considered to be politically incorrect.

Because it was illegal to deny someone a permit based upon their views being disagreeable, the ACLU hopped in to expedite the process of getting a permit. Later on, though, the ACLU openly condemned the rally and everyone there as being “hateful” and having “evil” ideologies.

This organization keeps exciting, up to date news pertaining to immigrants and racial minorities—especially undocumented immigrants and people from Hispanic countries. Read more: Jim Larkin | Angel.co

The news headlines mainly pertain to DACA, DREAMERs, how the current presidential administration is so flawed, the pros of having immigrants in the country and information about Sheriff Arpaio and why he is bad.

The Southern Poverty Law Center and the Anti-Defamation League

The Anti-Defamation league and the Southern Poverty Law Center are two separate organizations. However they have some very big similarities that are important to discuss in one paragraph. Larkin and Lacey both go by the philosophy that any viewpoint that is pro-white, or points out the struggles of the white race, is inherently wrong.

As a result, both organizations have lists on their websites of organizations, people and groups that are categorized as “extremist.” The info that is provided is actually pretty thought provoking and intriguing.

However, no matter how intriguing the information is on their websites, you have take into account the fact that the Anti-Defamation League and the Southern Poverty Law Center have their own political views and agendas.

The people and groups who are listed as “hateful” or “extremist” are included on the lists compiled by the Anti-Defamation League and the Southern Poverty Law Center even when they are not particularly unsuitable for society.  Learn more about Jim Larkin and Michael Lacey: http://www.bizjournals.com/phoenix/potmsearch/detail/submission/6427818/Michael_Lacey

Basically, anyone who espouses views that the the Anti-Defamation League and Southern Poverty Law Center don’t agree with are at risk for being listed online as “haters” and “hate groups” for everyone in the world to see.

Some people and organizations who are on the lists consider this be an attempt on the part of the Anti-Defamation League and Southern Poverty Law Center to blackmail and silence anyone who has any view that deviates from those of the SPLC and the ADL. There is also fear that the Southern Poverty Law Center and the Anti-Defamation League are trying to do this so that people with leftist and racially charged views go after those individuals and organizations listed on the websites.

Producing Healthy Food and minimizing Carbon Footprint on the Planet- Nathaniel Ru and Sweet Greens

People are becoming increasingly aware of the quality of the food which they eat. This is the reason behind the explosion and expansion of green and organic foods. This is the challenge that three finance students from the George Town University were looking for when they realized that option was not available.

Nathaniel Ru, Nicolas Jammet, and Jonathan Neman decided that they would do something about the glaring gap that existed in the market. They came up with the idea of providing healthy foods for the community around them.

The first step was to get a business plan that would encourage investors to take an interest in their business. They were lucky to get some guidance from the woman who rented the space where they set up their first store.

She helped them look into the finer details that won the confidence of investors such as Steve Case and Danny Meyer. They took time and got a great architect, and their first salad bar design was good enough to invite quite a crowd of customers. The second challenge they had was getting the fresh and organic products they needed for their salad bar. They came up with the idea of approaching the local community and getting organically grown produce from them.

Their dream was to always have a supply of fresh and organic fruits and vegetables and to make sure that everything was recycled such that their food production process left as little of a carbon print on the planet as possible.

The next step in their plan was to find a way to market their salads to their customers. They created an application which could be used by their clients to order salads available on the menu. Currently, they make about 30 percent of their sales through the app. Read more: Nathaniel Ru | LinkedIn

They also came up with the idea of Sweetlife. Sweetlife organizes an annual concert where their enthusiasts meet and enjoy great music, and create a sense of shared culture.

The store which started as a single salad bar on campus has now spread to 40 locations across the country. The three co-founders state that it has taken time, effort and patience to get to where they are.

They feel that they are doing their best to ensure that as they produce organic food for their customers, they are leaving a minimal carbon footprint on the planet. The goal is to create sustainable brands, which will live long after their founders. Read more: Nathaniel Ru | Crunchbase

Sweetgreen the Leading Food Chain

If the chance for starting a fresh presented itself to the traditional hotels, most would want to have a recent look like that of Sweetgreen. Sweetgreens is a salad chain that is supported by notable investors such as Steve Case, Daniel Boulud, as well as Danny Meyer. The chain has identified itself as a provider of local, fresh, organic, as well as healthy food. It by this virtual qualifies to be a modern food industry. The particular recipe in Sweetgreen has made the lines stay long in all of the 40 locations. The primary focus of the chain is to create a brand that gives customers better food. There is much for the traditional chains to learn from Sweetgreen. For starters, incorporating technology. From the beginning, the co-chief executive officers and Georgetown University classmates have been tech pioneers. Secondly, all the transactions made at the prestigious food chain are through the website or mobile app. It currently has more than 40 locations across the country. It is a provider of food that considers your values, budget, and taste. The most recent strategy that the three have come up with is staying close to its customers. In each year, Sweetgreen closes about five times giving a chance for every person to work in the restaurants. The newest office is Los Angeles. The fact that the company has no head office makes it even more unique. Nathaniel Ru, one of the CEOs, says that no principal office is in place since they aim at decentralizing their headcounts. The three CEOs work hard to make the company national.

Nathaniel Ru, Jonathan Neman, and Nicolas Jammet are the co-CEOs who first met in an entrepreneurship class at the Georgetown University. They all observed and agreed that the Georgetown area did not have options for eating healthy. For this reason, the trio opened their first restaurant immediately after graduating from college. Sweetgreen was first located in Georgetown. When they made it through the end of the first winter, the three established that they would thrive in the business.
